Several days ago, I watched a video that was posted by a few of my friends.

It was captioned "GUYS JUST TAKE 3 MIN AND 7 SECONDS FROM YOUR BUSY LIFE TO SEE THIS VIDEO...... PLZZZZ...‌"

It moved me.

I decided to look more into this matter and read up about charity water.

Seeing other people living without safe water to drink made me feel compelled to do something.

Tomorrow is my Grandmother's 74th birthday and I bought an eCard for $20 and 100% of it will contribute towards well drilling.

This is how it looks like.

Are Narcissists capable of being true friends?

Sometimes I wonder if narcissistic people can be true friends. I guess it truly depends on the traits that the person has, whether he or she has full-blown Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). Friendships and relationships are based primarily on trust, so how can we fully trust someone who comes to you only when they need something?

I am sure all of us are familiar with people whom we call “drama queens” or “toxic people”. Drama queens are those that always have to have things their way. Even a simple outing becomes a big deal to them. For example when someone suggests going to the movies, you can be sure from that the drama queen will decide which movie, what day we she is available to watch it, what time is suitable for her and after everyone has rearranged thing according to what he or she wants, most likely she will bail the very last minute.

But regardless Narcissist or not, these people still are human beings and deserve to be helped. So let us show them our compassion and try to be there for them to our best capacity. Perhaps if we show them by example what “true” friends are they can learn from us.

On the last day of 2009, I woke up at 7.00am and did my morning routine. Hesitation was enticing me not to perform what I was about to do later. I didn't want to succumb to the temptation of escaping.

I drove to Taman Free School flats. A force in my heart asked me to just say no as I walked through the stalls in the market with a plastic bag in hand. I kept walking. I saw Ku Ku* sitting at the steps of the middle compound waiting for me as promised. Our appointment was 8.30am and I was on time.

*Ku Ku - In Chinese, it means the sister of your father, your aunt on the paternal side. This Ku Ku is my babysitter. I was under her care from when I was nine months old till I was thirteen.

As I walked towards her, I felt like I needed to pee. At first I thought it was hesitation calling again but I talked sense to myself. Am I going to pee because I am afraid of doing what I'm about to do or I genuinely needed to pee? Should I do it then pee? or Should I go pee first? If I pee now, am I not going to do it? I figured I should just pee and then do it,that will really make me feel more comfortable.

Ku Ku told me to pee in the Kopitiam at the corner lot. She said just go pee there and we'll have our breakfast there later. I was hesitant, I told her I better walk further and go to Medan Selera. She said its not open on Thursdays then I went to the Kopitiam and left the plastic bag with her. There was a lady queuing at the toilet. Once again I wanted to go to Medan Selera but before I made my decision the lady queuing fled so I stayed as it should be vacant soon since there was a person waiting in front of me. I relieved nature's calling and went back to my Ku Ku.

She said she wants to buy a few stuff from Yeong Fo Lou* and she'll reintroduce me to him. She picked a lidi broom and as she paid for it, she asked the boss whether he recognized me, I'm the kid she brought up, he politely said that of course he remembers if she says it.

*Yeong Fo Lou - In Cantonese, it means the guy that sells western goods.

I spoke. I told him when I was still small, I lost my mechanical pencil's cover. I went to his shop and stole the cover of a mechanical pencil to replace mine. I was there to apologize. Ku Ku repeated what I just said to him in her own words. He with his wife beside said its not a big deal, little children are mischievous. I gave him the plastic bag and put on his counter. There was 2 boxes of biscuits from Him Heang together with a white envelope that contained a ten ringgit note. He said he can't finish so many biscuits and wanted to give a box to my Ku Ku, I told him I've given her biscuits too.

He and his wife then shared their experiences on this matter. Many children stole goods from their shop along the years. She said that usually people drop an envelope with a letter and some money in their shop to tell them they stole a pencil box or something. They do not know who they are. I was glad.

Ku Ku and I then moved on for Char Koay Kak.

My New Induction Stove

I bought a new Induction Stove.

You might be curious how an Induction Stove actually works. The history of a stove starts with A long long time ago, in a far far galaxy, just go to wikipedia and find out how it works. :P

The older one that I had went out of service and we hadn't replaced it for 3 weeks so one can imagine the amount of arena mamak thrash* and instant food we consumed. We basically cooked with a toaster oven and a rice cooker with a damaged teflon inner pot.

Just in case you're curious why I didn't consider a gas stove, it is to save the lives of arena green residents. Students might be careless with gas.

An induction stove is actually a very neat invention. It heats up really fast and it only cooks the food,not you. However, it is not conducive for stir frying because the food sticks on the pan before its cooked. Its either because it heats up too fast and/or the nature of the induction stove that uses magnetic energy to entice friction among molecules of metal messes with the food molecule as well(Don't believe me because I don't even fully believe myself in this). You can only use pots and pans that are made of metals that are magnetic,so if you want to know whether a pot can be used on an induction stove,just place a piece of magnet on it. The bottom has to be flat too.

APIIT Bus Collision at Bukit Jalil LRT Station

On the afternoon of 3 July there was a severe collision involving the APIIT UCTI bus and a taxi. The bus in question was assigned LRT rounds on the day, and it was on its way to its destination when the collision took place. From several sources I have compiled this appropriately detailed report.

The bus carrying students to the LRT station from the college was on Lebuhraya Shah Alam, an expressway, about to turn into the Jalan Merah Cager, a busy junction due to there being a traffic signal. It was then that the bus driver realized that he couldn’t engage the breaks on the bus which was travelling fast but within limits.

According to accounts from several witnesses of the collision, the driver first used the pedal to brake, and that was when the brakes on the bus failed. Several people claimed that they saw sparks when the brakes were engaged, the sparks were issuing from the wheel arches of the bus, probably because the front left tire had exploded.

The driver however was determined to stop the bus and by this time he had already entered Jalan Merah Cager, barely keeping the bus steady on the corner as he tried, without prevail, to engage the hand break failing again to stop the bus.

At this point, further ahead, a taxi was cruising on the lane closest to the sidewalk, also driving his customer to the LRT station. Meanwhile the bus driver was now attempting to turn off the road, but given the speed, and no way to stop, he rammed the taxi in the rear and shattered the rear windscreen. The taxi was now moving sideways until it hit one of the pillars on the sidewalk, which supports the canopy. This made the taxi’s front end lurch to the left and ram into the other pillars of the canopy, which no longer stood shading the sidewalk, and instead crumpled to a heap on the side.

The bus however is a much heavier vehicle and so after it rammed into the taxi, it continued to advance right at the side walk at a 45 degree angle, at which point the front of the bus crashed right into the canopy at speed. As the canopy, which was made from tin, wrapped around the front, the bus had already gone completely across the sidewalk and that was when it finally came to a halt.

According the reports from witnesses, there was a woman in the taxi, who exit the taxi after the collision. She had suffered from cuts to her hands while coming out of the taxi due to the broken glass, and so she was bleeding. Reports also suggest that she was in shock when she emerged from the wreck. The students on the bus were all fine; apparently everyone was seated at the time of the crash which preventing them from being harmed in this unfortunate collision.

My name is Loh Ji Yuan and I stopped the bus.

Around 9 o'clock in the morning, a yellow Bas Sekolah with a tiny APIIT/UCTI logo at its windscreen was stopping in front of the yellow box after the traffic light near Gate 1( near 7 Eleven) of Arena Green Apartments. It was a bus coming from Vista Komanwel going towards APIIT/UCTI’s Building in Technology Park Malaysia. It had stopped there for more than 30 seconds because of the traffic congestion.

I decided to cross the road from Arena Green to enter the bus. So I crossed the road and I looked at the traffic in front of the bus and made sure that the traffic in front is static. At that point in time, I knocked on the door of the bus. The bus driver that wore spectacles was on duty for that shift. He refused to open the door for me while the traffic was not moving.

So I walked from the side and stood in front of the bus to ask the bus driver to open the door for me and once again he refused.

I opened my arms wide and demanded, “WHY? WHY? WHY?”. The bus driver moved the bus forward even though he was fully aware that I was standing right in front of the bus. I did not budge, planting both of my feet firmly on the ground. The bus driver stepped on his brakes inches before me. I again continued to ask him “WHY? WHY? WHY?”.

At that moment, he opened the bus door to take my student ID, asked me to take it back from Mr. Anthony who is in charge of student discipline and then he ran back into the bus. I entered the bus before he closed the door. Minutes later, I finally set foot in APIIT.

That was what happened on 9th June 2009.

What went through my mind when I decided to stand in front of the bus?

I felt cheated. I felt I wasn’t being treated fairly. I felt I was being discriminated against. I stopped the bus. The fact that I felt discriminated was because the buses on numerous occasions picked up many other people from many different spots including the exact spot where I tried to catch the bus. I had to ask “WHY?”, what was the reason?

It’s moments like this that pushes people beyond their limits. There I stood, risking my life, irrationally. I have to apologize to all the ones that love me especially my parents but all I wanted, and stood for, was equal treatment.

I queued outside Mr.Anthony’s office waiting for my turn to see him. When my turn came, I walked into his room and told him I was there to take my student ID. He turned his head and spoke to Mr.Selva and said: “This is the boy who stopped the bus.” He told me that the buses are supposed to only stop at designated spots and not anywhere else. Vista Komanwel buses are not supposed to pick up students from Arena Green, only buses coming from the LRT station can pick up students from Arena Green, according to him. I tried not to react, I did not want to say something I would regret because I had anger in me. They told me that they would send a letter to inform my parents about this incident and warned me that if I stopped the bus once more I would have to face the disciplinary board. Mr. Anthony asked why I stood in front of the bus and wondered what could have happened, if the bus driver had been arrogant and if he had decided to not stop and drive over me. I told him I could have been injured or worse lost my life. After the discussion, I got my student ID and left.

I went for lunch and calmed myself down. I went to Mr. Anthony’s office again with my reasoning and thoughts that I couldn’t answer during the first session. I then expressed what went through my mind when I risked my life to stop the bus, which I have explained above. I made suggestions that they have proper signs to tell students about the designated spots.

Mr. Anthony accepted my suggestions but Mr. Selva interrupted and said that the location of the designated spots is a known fact to all the students and questioned me whether they have to have a large signboard showing people that? I admitted my mistake for being irrational and I said that I know I was wrong to stop the bus. I was merely trying to tell them why I did what I did. The first reason is because there was no proper notices on the bus that tells us where they should or should not stop. The second, is how the bus stopped for other people and not me.

Mr. Selva once again told me that I was wrong to do what I did. Again I explained that I knew I was wrong and admitted my mistake. But I was merely trying to tell them why I did what I did. Mr. Anthony suggested we end the conversation because we were going round and round and so we left his room.

I am glad that I stood up for something that I believed in but I feel guilt about the means I chose to stand up for my belief. It shouldn’t have been so reckless. So it doesn’t feel right and in fact quite wrong. So do not let your self do something like this.

What I'm Doing in Penang

Many of you are curious, what do I do in Penang?

Well I can honestly tell you, I practically want to do nothing when I am back home besides helping my mom with her chores.

When I do not have any responsibilities, I rest and forget all my worries with a cup of Kopi-O.

Ashuminator Salvation

After yesterday's update on The Curious Case of Ashutosh Dwivedi, I shall update on Ashuminator Salvation.

Ashu went through the surgery safe and sound.

Once we arrived, we went to Room 523.

The hospital food was bland so we brought Ashu Naan bread from Taj Curry House.

Ashu went through uretheroscopy first where they insert the equipment into his urethra looking for the kidney stones,break them and flush them out. After that its J stenting which is the placement of a stent used to dilate the ureter and allow stones that may have got stuck in the ureter to pass. That will stay in his body for approximately 3 weeks and he will have to go back to the hospital to remove it.

The above image is an example of how it looks inside his body when the scope goes into his body. The yellow object is the kidney stone. It will then be broken down into smaller pieces by a drill like object at the front.

The nurse coming to check his blood pressure and body temperature again. According to Ashuminator, he has been asked 21 times about his allergies and explaining the same thing to them every single time is tiring. This is due to the fact that there are many student nurse in Subang Jaya Medical Centre and they rotate a lot to have more practice but can't they just check from his file or something?

Sami from Malawi was all fascinated by the modern facilities in the ward.

At last we disinfected our hands before we left. Ashuminator will be discharged before 12pm the next day. Wish him well!

The Curious Case of Ashutosh Dwivedi

My cell phone rang this afternoon. I looked at the screen and it says Ashu. "There must be something happening..." those were the words in my mind. I picked up the phone and he requested for water at the 3rd floor beside the library. He said it was an emergency. I told Priyanka to take care of my stuff in the syndicate room and I rushed to the 3rd floor with my bottle.

He was there with Darshini and her tupperware. I passed him my bottle and he explained his situation to me. I called Derek to borrow his car to bring him to the clinic. When I went to his car in the carpark beside APIIT. The serious double parking and sometimes even triple parking condition in the carpark has delayed the trip to the clinic for quite a while. He was in tremendous pain , Priyanka's calls came in asking me to hurry and I couldn't do anything about it. I called the guy and he was walking all the way from enterprise III to the carpark. A solution has to be made about the carpark situation in APIIT. A college with 5000+ students only have enough carpark for 200 cars?At last that guy came. I quickly drove to the APIIT entrance and picked him up alongside Momo. Ashu was in pain, I tried to go really slow whenever we meet a road bump but it still hurts for him. Went to Klinik Sentral in Sri Petaling. It was this lady Punjabi doctor and she is fierce! The face she put up when Ashu requested her to change the referral letter's hospital, phew....boy,it was nasty!

After that I drove to APIIT. Dropped Momo at Arena Green on the way. Picked up Derek and headed to Subang Jaya Medical Centre with the guidance of Derek's GPS phone. We went to the emergency ward. He was in there waiting for the specialist to admit him. Derek and I waited there for around 2 hours. The specialist came and decides he has to do a CT scan.

Aravin,Derek,Farhud,Kaveh and I were there with him waiting for his bladder to get full before going for the CT scan. Btw, he has a medical history of kidney stones.

After his CT scan, the specialist told him that the kidney stone that is causing him pain is not that severe but he has another 8mm kidney stone before his bladder.

Surgery is required. It will take place tomorrow.

He is currently admitted to room 523(South Tower) in Subang Jaya Medical Centre which is now called Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya.

Few weeks ago, I attended a leadership camp. Yes! The cliche type! Its always the same thing,the same talk,the not same but same activities, but still, I benefit from these kind of camps one way or another.

So we gathered in APIIT and we headed towards Lenggeng.

Assignment & Lizard

"His Girlfriend is Below Par"

Last week, I went to Sunway Lagoon with my high school buddies. In the midst of our conversation, my friend John made a comment that spiked me up to write this post.John was telling that me that he bumped into our ex-classmate Mike the other day. He thinks Mike is actually quite a handsome chap, but his new girlfriend is below par. My first reaction was "What do you mean by below par?". He said she looks cao lao* and a little thick. I was really disappointed by his remark due to the fact that he can say that someone's partner is 'below par' just because of their looks.

*cao lao - hokkien phrase for someone that looks older than they should

If he had said that her looks were below par instead of just 'below par', it would've been no big deal but that isn't the case. I replied him saying "maybe she has many other attractive trades besides her looks or perhaps she is more mature and loving.." hoping to bring out his deeper side but he simply said that his previous partner is better looking. Sigh.

Later on, we went to the wave pool just to chill out and relax. John pointed out a girl and dared Leon to ask for her phone number. Leon refused his challenge and said the girl wasn't pretty. John was surprised by Leon's remark and asked me about the girl's looks. I said "bo sui*". John complained that we are asking for too much. My reply was "I have very high standards when it comes to defining physical beauty but it doesn't mean that I seek for my partner based on that criteria." Leon agreed with me.

I sincerely think that pretty looks is not all that important when it comes to choosing a partner. Good looks might be all exciting and cool but at the end of the day it is the character and personality that matters. I've met people that have average looks with such great personality that it shines through everything. These people are actually the most attractive beings in the world and not the pretty faces.

Several weeks ago, right after I told my brother that looks are not important, he reminded me that I used to tell him that a romantic partner should at least look decent.

I did not deny it but explained to him that looks does play its role but it shouldn't be an overshadowing criteria.

"If a book has a pretty cover, it will make you want to flip it open but one will not buy it just because of its cover, it has to have substance. But a dull cover that has great content might just lie in the corner of the bookshop forever."That used to be what I preached. However, something was missing, is it true that nothing can be done to help the book in the corner? I asked myself. The new me places the last piece of the puzzle by concluding that a book with great content can choose to have a simple but catchy title to do the job.

We all need kickstarts and after that it is up to you to make things happen.

As I was preparing for my update on Valentine's day, I received a text from my ex-colleague Kai Lin.

"Sharon met an accident and passed away this morning..."

That was the exact line in the SMS. The first thing that came into mind was "OMG! Is this a joke?". And then I calmed down and read it again. It won't be a joke, its from Kai Lin. We seldom correspond since we left our working place. Then I told my housemate Andrew about the death of my friend. I called Kai Lin minutes after. I was asking for more details from her and the sadness behind her sobbing voice was apparent.

She was on the way home from her part time job at Starbucks,Queensbay around midnight. She on her motorbike in Sungai Dua when a Honda that was trying to overtake a Rapid Penang bus hit her. She then fell and got ran over by the back wheel of the bus. Her 19 year old life was taken away on the spot.

Sharon 吴君芬 was my colleague when I joined AMD Penang. We were working side by side in the Global Accounting Financial Services Record Retention.

From the photo above, you can obviously see that she was a very cheerful girl. She always appeared as a happy-go-lucky girl. I can still remember when I first joined, Sharon, Kai Lin and I were in the small store room sorting out the accounting documents. She was one of my first few friends in the workplace. I've always admired her honesty. The way she speaks her mind without being afraid never fails to impress me. The sound clip of her laughter is still so vivid in my memory bank and it is as if someone has set the iPod of my brain to repeat mode as I'm writing this post.

This was a gathering session at Kompleks Bukit Jambul after she left AMD because school started.

At last, this is a picture that I will never forget. All of us drew this together on Microsoft Paint.

We should all live our lives to the fullest and have no regrets! She won't want us to stop for her, deep down in my heart, I can hear her voice yelling at us:"Go on,my friends!I lost my chance, don't slowdown yours!"

My dog was so excited to see me again and I decided to take him for a walk.

My boxing day was quite hectic. In the morning,I went to Sunway Pyramid to meet Ernest. The condition in the parking lot was insane. It was so crowded!!! I think the whole Malaysia came to KL for shopping.

After Sunway, I rushed back to my dad's place to pack some stuff then rushed to Bukit Jalil. Took a bath and headed to the LRT station with my friends. After that we arrived in Hang Tuah station. We walked pass Berjaya Times Square and witnessed a fire performance.

Just found out I'm actually 'that' tanned after comparing myself to many other people this week. You like me tanned? lol

Christmas Eve, something like our Chinese New Year's Eve dinner for the west. Some people choose to party, some people feel obligated to have dinner with their family members or some just wanna relax at home and chill.

(I set my camera on the tripod and snapped this shot without informing them,I just thought "posed" family shots are too common)

As far as I remember, this is the 1st time I spent my Christmas eve out of Penang. As you can see in the photo above, just me and my parents at the dining table, munching fruits in the rented apartment in Klang Valley. I miss everything in Penang! No worries,will be back home in a few days!

A list of short thoughts

I was brought up in a middle income family and I didn't have many luxury indulgences other than food but the bottom line is that my parents provided me a comfortable life. I do see people living in poverty as I used to walk to low cost flat areas myself to explore but I never quite see what were the sacrifices that the people have to make behind the scenes. Most of my closer friends are wealthy and never really face any huge problems in their everyday life. As I grow up, I see more and I listen to more. I learn about other people's experiences. Like instance I have a friend that married a man because her family needed financial help and end up with a person that she doesn't love romantically for life. Another friend of mine, her dad loves the family so much but he has a very very bad habit, which is to gamble, I guess I don't have to elaborate what gambling can do to a family. I think I will stop here.

I watched "Chak De India" the other day. Its an Indian film starred by Shahrukh Khan(Yes that dude that Malaysia wants to give Datukship to!). The story was nothing great,predictable just like all the other inspirational sports movies. Just in case you do not know,its about a women's hockey team in India that is being looked down and then in the end wins. I don't mind watching inspirational sports film that are not too interesting in their plot because I love sports and the sporting spirit never fails to touch me. The thing I like most about the film is it reflects the cultural and ethnic differences in India itself. I bet many of you think Indians are just Indians,what's the difference? There are actually lots of parts of India that have people that look different and speak different languages. We all know the hot North Indians from the Hindi movies and also the Tamilians that are the majority of the Indians in Malaysia, of course I cannot miss out the Punjabis that usually are minorities in many countries but they are everywhere but of course you cannot compare them to Chinese people. Chinese are everywhere! There also people in India that looks like East Asians with small eyes and petite size. Those live near the Himalaya region. Anyway one nice discovery, I didn' t know Punjabi women are known to be bullies! Haha! No offense k! Just joking! I still think Punjabi women are hot! Don't kill me!

To judge or not to judge?

I can't prevent myself from judging people sometimes, I guess I am human after all.

Some stewardess parked at my parking lot with Victoria's Secret paper bags in the car and also clothes and suitcases scrambled all over the backseat and frontseat. Had the guard to clamp it and I had to park at the lot reserved for the disabled. WTF!

Sami was out in his balcony and someone poured disgusting stuff and it got onto his head. OMG! Mad people! Not to mention I actually tossed expired raw chicken from the 16th floor before but I tossed it far!

Fire in Arena Green

The day before yesterday, there was a fire in Arena Green Apartment, Bukit Jalil. The unit involved was in Block F. I was sleeping at that time because I was so tired from the previous day, I slept from 8pm till 8am. Non of my housemates knew about it until yesterday. I am living 2 apartment blocks away so we had no idea. I actually found out when my classmate AbdulMajed was having a chat with me yesterday morning.

The fire brigade was here for the rescue!

Apparently many residents came down to watch the fire.

According to a resident Jerry Ling said that when the fire brigades was trying to pump water into the fire zone, it squirted several times instead. The civilians were laughing their ass off having to witness that hilarious moment.

I guess it hadn't been in use since it was created?

TRIBE TOYOTA BASH 2008

Last Saturday, after the MAPCU Volleyball Competition in Nottingham University in Semenyih, I rushed home to take a bath and fled to Cineleisure immediately to attend the Tribe Toyota Bash. The event is basically a "Give Back to Society" social responsibility project by UMW Toyota.

Josh directed me to the reserved parking and we went in together. There were some dance performance to entertain the crowd.

Had a look at the Toyota Vios which is exactly what I need to commute around town.

Event organisers had Nintendo Wii Stations to keep not just the kids occupied but also to allow some adults to indulge in the fun of some Wii Sport.

Here comes a mini version of Toyota Hilux Strongest Man Competition. If I didn't have my camera in hand, I would've jumped onto the stage..LOL

The participants from all over the country including one guy from Sabah that came all the way down here with the host Belinda Chee.

The task was to carry the tyres around the cones and put them on the other side. I seriously think I would've won if I joined. :P

Here's the climax of the night!

The Biggest Toyota Logo Made of Recyclable Cans made its mark in the Malaysia Book of Records with 22,000 recyclable cans. The gigantic Toyota logo measures over 32 feet in length and 20 feet in height. This broke the record made by students in Damansara Utama in 2005 using 7,512 cans.

The Malaysia Book of Records certificate is presented by MBR Offical Ricky Yap tp Mr.Kuah Kock Heng, managing director of UMW Toyota Sdn Bhd.

UMW Toyota never fails to contribute back to the society. This was the cheque presentation to Yayasan Anak Warisan Alam(YAWA). YAWA is a Youth Foundation that instills an appreciation of the environment through environmentally-orientated activities to the youth community.

This pretty much sums up the event, I'm awaiting Uncle Josh to send me the photos of me doing rock climbing over there.

After that, as I was strolling in Cineleisure, I saw this crowd outside of a game shop. I stopped for a while to see what's happening and guess what?! They're jamming with Guitar Hero! Besides the guitar, bass guitar and drum set, they have vocals as well!!! How cool is that? I wish I have a Guitar Hero band! :P

Blind Man and Sending off my Alpha

Last Tuesday, I took the KTM to Midvalley. I spotted a blind man waiting for the train. He was an old Malay man. His eye lids were sunken because he had no eye balls. This is not the first time I've seen blind people taking the train. I like to observe my surroundings. When the train came into sight, everybody else stood up and waited in front of the yellow line with their eyes on the train. I tried to listen to the train instead of looking so that I can understand more about what's going on in the blind man's mind. I could hear the train coming from far and I bet he could hear it better than I do, I turned my vision towards his direction and saw that he didn't move like the other people. A blind man is patient enough. As the train gets nearer, everybody looked like they couldn't wait to board the train and he stood up immediately after the brakes of the train made a squeaky sound. I saw everyone trying to board the train and figured he could use some help, so I held his left arm and guided him into the train without having him to bump onto anyone. I felt contented after doing this good deed. So I'm here sharing it with you people.

Once I arrived in Midvalley, I was so hungry so I thought of fast food because I really needed food fast. I didn't want to have any McD or KFC or Burger King, so I thought of Yoshinoya since I haven't tried it before. I ordered the Chicken and Salmon set and sadly to say I was a little disappointed because the Salmon is deep fried. I expected it to be grilled. The rice was not warm enough for me. The vegetable tasted quite bad. But I was very hungry so I walloped the whole thing.

Next,I went to Sony Customer Service Center at Northpoint Midvalley. Its a satellite buidling of Midvalley Megamall. I was there to send my Sony Alpha for repair. The lense failed me right before Dance2Nista. It couldn't focus and it sends out a loud mechanical sound like its jammed.

After that, I dropped by Jusco in Midvalley to shop for some goods and spotted this RM50 durian... WTF? Apparently they are from famous trees...

My bloody work of art!

OMG! That's blood! Derek said I cut myself just to bring my passion for art to the next level.(He was actually half asleep when he said this)

No! I am not a freak! and I am not mad enough to cut myself to do some bloody painting.

It actually started like this. I wanted to open a can of Heinz English Baked Beans and I didn't have a can opener, hence I used a Chinese Kitchen Knife to open it. In the process, I accidentally cut my finger and I went to squeeze the blood out of my finger and I started dripping it in patterns onto the sink and I thought it was quite artistic. Suddenly I thought drawing something with my blood would be cool, so I asked my housemate Andrew to lend me his sketching pad.

I just simply drew and the sudden thought of people using their blood to write in ancient chinese films struck me. So I wrote the chinese character "Blood" on the sketch pad.

You can still see the blood was still fresh when I took the picture.

Here is the finger that contributed to art.

I actually wanted to keep the blood paintings but my dad told me that the smell of blood attracts unwanted spirits so I asked Andrew to throw them away. Although the hard copy has already been sent to the waste dump, I still have these pictures to immortalise these wonderful pieces of art.

Today, mom made me 2 eggs and fried a piece of ham for me.

Didn't have much for lunch except for some fruits.

Had some fruit tart homemade by the woman I love the most during tea time.

Wanted to go downtown for some good Thai food but had to resort to somewhere in Sungai Ara. The food wasn't that good.

Planned to go to Hai Yun and went all the way there just to find out that the singers are on leave. Headed to Starbucks E-Gate. Had Coffee and Chor Dai Dee-ed with Tung, Chien Yee and Chun Hoong.

Ladies and Gentlemen...Thanks for coming back to my blog although I haven't been updating for weeks. My lazy nerve got really strong recently, the idea of having a foodlog of my short break back in Penang is a big part of my battle strategy against my laziness.

I arrived on Monday night, it was almost midnight when I set the tires of my dad's car on Penang roads.. No food, just plain H2O.

The Arabic Student Community in my college organised an Arabian Cultural Event two weeks ago.

They had a mini Arabian bazaar that is colourful and attractive.

After my class this crowd was getting very excited and they were dancing away.

I went and checked out the Arabian Cultural Exhibition.

It is the first time I've ever seen scriptures made of animal skin.

Spotted this interesting looking statue.

I touched those materials and they were very nice.

APIIT Appreciation Day 2008 #1

The Appreciation Day represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that lecturers make to education and development without forgetting the staff of APIIT that had also worked hard to run this big family.

The event kicked off with performances from the APIIT Music Club.

Sami Parvez sang Michael Buble's "Everything".

Followed by Rebecca Chimheno's vocal performance on 2 songs. First was "All This Time" by Michelle McManus followed by the highlight- Mariah Carey's "Without You" as the outstanding performance touched the heart and souls of the audience.

Amos Wafula did a cover of "Another Day in Paradise" originally by Phil Collins. The Kenyan solo artist wooed the crowd with his unique vocals and his flair on keyboard.

Next up, the hosts invited staff and lecturers together to play a game.

The name of the game is called Passing the Parcel.

Participants have to pass the parcel around the circle of people and music will be going on at the same time. At the moment the music stops, the participants that has the parcel in hand has to pick a ticket from the parcel and perform the act written on the paper. So you can imagine or rather see for yourself how fast they were passing the parcel.

The lucky number one goes to Ms.Intan. Her task was to get shot and die in a dramatic way.

They even prepared gun replicas for the act. Haha!

Okay, I know the word "dramatical" is wrong, but i just like the sound of it.

The second round went to Mr.Charles. By right the parcel would have fell into his wife's hands but he held the parcel in hand like a gentlemen.

The host asked him to read out what was written on it and perform the task. The humorous guy actually said:"Sit down and do absolutely nothing." Haha!

He had to state 3 reasons why people should vote for him as Malaysia's Next Top Model.

After much hard work was put on by the StudentARC members of APIIT, the Annual Sports Carnival was a success. It is finally time that we celebrated the success.

The venue was Mid-Valley's Nando's.

Since I told Mihika that she wasn't wearing a-skirt-skirt, she decided to go to Topshop to show me her fashion sense. My thought? No comments...

Mihika dragged Aya along with her to the shop while we were signing and leaving wishing messages on a card for Aya.

Finally she's back and we presented her this HUGE birthday card.

The Arrival of Scientology

Few days ago, I checked my pigeon box and I found this parcel lying in there. Its a parcel air mailed to me from America. Guess what? It's from the Church of Scientology International. Their address is in Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles California. How cool is that?

The reason I got the book is because they had a google ad on my blog few months ago and I clicked on it to see what they have to say about scientology. After watching their video at http://www.scientology.org/, I spotted a column to request for a free book and I entered my address and they airmailed it to me! This actually means they are freaking rich! Most of their disciples are RICH ASSES!

I actually discovered about scientology quite a while back when my friend Yin Tung was telling me about it.

It was Tom Cruise that made the world more informed about this 20th Century religion. I searched it online few years ago and checked a little about its history and found out that the founder is a SCIENCE FICTION BOOK WRITER! You can check out his books here. He also committed crime before. You can check out his FBI rap sheet here.

How can a person freaking BELIEVE in a religion that is founded by a guy that writes books about imaginary stuff?

They are very good at using images. As you can see in the picture, I was impressed by its image to text ratio, they are actually very careful in the choice of words not to offend other religions and they used the images to tell the value that they intend to. Very smart I shall say. The religion is kinda weird but also logical in certain ways, it emphasises quite a lot in pscychology though.

Anyway, by writting this post, I am not trying to promote the religion of scientology nor am I a scientologist. The intention of this post is to share my thoughts on receiving the free book and I thought that everyone should increase their knowledge database.

The Summer Splash Massacre

Haha! Calling it a "Massacre" is a total exaggeration but it was almost a massacre, just without any lives being taken away. Refer to the previous post about the crazy crowd and lousy crowd control in Sunway Lagoon.

Okay! Now! Due to the fact that the crowd as getting kinda frustrated, to me and my friends own safety and time, we decided that its not worth it, so we escaped from that place. Now the interesting part is how we did it.

In conclusion, 3 dudes Andrew Dwipa Kencana, Sami Parvez and Loh Ji Yuan climbed over the railing at the side of the cliff like monkeys and got our way back. It was one hell of an experience! Better than queuing and going in!

The outing for Summer Splash!

Pics below were taken by K800i as I forgot to insert my battery into my Alpha-100 before leaving the house.

First, me and my friends went to the Sunway Lagoon main entrance. Then this Sunway Lagoon employee asked whether we're here for Summer Splash and we said yes. He directed us to this side to the connection escalator. We queued and queued. The securities wasn't allowing people to move in from this side. Due to my ignorance and the "INFORMATIVE" employee's directions, we got stuck in the crazy crowd. The crowd you see in the picture is just 2% of the crowd. Do the multiplication with your imagination will you?

People were shouting and crying and pushing and fighting! It was a MESS! Me and my group of friends decided to climb to the cliff at the side and leave the place. Giving 13,000 tickets and each ticket gives admission for 2 person meaning they should expect a 26k crowd. The planning is totally absurd.

After we left, we adjourn to a Japanese restaurant. I didn't order the set above. I ordered a Sukiyaki which I enjoyed it a lot.

Later on, we were hanging around Sunway Pyramid. We checked out this Bed shop called Getha. They have fantastic Latex beds.

Kek Lok Si #5 - Guan Yin and the 12 Zodiacs

After going up to the pagoda, the next destination in Kek Lok Si would be the Bronze Guan Yin of Kek Lok Si Temple; Air Itam, Penang island, Malaysia. 30 m (98.5 ft). Completed in 1999.

Instead of paying for 3 person to take the stupid cable that looks like an inclined lift, I decided to walk down from the pagoda to take my car parked below and drove up to the Bronze Goddess of Mercy Statue.

After the generous donations by faithful devotees, the construction of the canopy is already in progress, hence we were unable to go near to the statue.

They have the 12 animal zodiacs there as well!

LOL

Is this an example of beastiality? Shouldn't the tagline be Man has anal sex with pig? LOL

Should this be my personal ad? Now who wants some tongue? LOL

I spotted my snakey being too friendly with another guy...

I confronted her and this was the response I got:

After all these posing and my brother got pissed and threatened to punch me if I do not stop taking pictures... Haha

At last, the older Kuan Yin Statue of Kek Lok Si. I thought that it would be a nice material for me to do some vector art with this picture. This will be my next flash vector project!

The reason I took such a long time to update about this is due to the fact that I was busy handling some stuff for my college's sports carnival, and secondly is because I HAD TOO MANY PICTURES OF MARIE that I had a very hard time choosing which picture to post...Sorry for the picture quality as it is compromised to ensure faster loading of my blog page...

Thanks to Advertlets, I had a chance to meet Marie Digby in person. I'm loving every bit of her songs now! Had a chance to take a picture of her before the conference start. She was actually there earlier than the media which is very rare among celebrities.

I actually this Indian bodyguard was quite cool and I wanted to take a picture of him and he was actually camera shy, he adjusted his tie and then slowly looked away! Haha! The tough guy is SHY!

She's this fun and friendly girl that has no big ass attitudes which I admire.

The Tamil New Year and Vaisakhi was celebrated in APIIT last month. In recent years, the college never failed in giving the international experience to all the students and staffs with cultural and festival celebrations from different parts of the world. The local and international students and staffs will work together to make the celebrations happen.

Puthandu, or better known as Tamil New Year, is the celebration of the first day of the new Tamil year by people of Tamil origin. It follows the Tamil Calendar, which is used in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry in India, and by the Tamil population in Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
The celebration generally fall on April 12, April 13 or April 14. People greet each other on this day by saying இனிய தமிழ் புத்தாண்டு நல்- வாழ்த்துக்கள் (Iniya Tamizh Puthaandu Nalvazthukkal).

Vaisakhi (Punjabi: ਵਸਾਖੀ, vaisākhī, also known as Baisakhi) is an ancient harvest festival in Punjab, which also marks beginning of a new solar year, and new harvest season.

Dr. Parmjit Singh and Prof. Les was honoured and welcomed by the Tamil people.

The ceremony followed by Sikhs chanting with the Kirpan.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently, I've been busy with my exams and after that I went back to my hometown Penang. The first thing to do is to have Penang Char Koay Teow! Just like Tony Stark in Iron Man wanted to have an American Cheeseburger right before anything else when he arrived back in his home country.

I haven't been back since Chinese New Year! 3 months!

Parents took me to have great meal at Salsas.

I got some photos printed and had this picture framed as a gift to Yin Tung for his birthday.

Had dinner at a German restaurant called Ingolf the night before I came back to KL.

I just started using Stumble Upon one week ago and it has been bringing lots of online entertainment to me.

Just 10 minutes ago, my Malawian friend Sami sent me a link in Stumble Upon about this audio clip done with Binaural Recording technology. Let me tell you! This is totally MIND-BLOWING! IT'S WICKED!!!!

Binaural recording is a method of recording audio which uses a special microphone arrangement intended for replay using headphones.

Few days ago, I saw this Soh Hem Sem guy around the net and begin to ask myself, what's so "Hem Sem" about him?

I logged on the site and saw this "stim" fella on the main page, he looks blur and all. There's these few buttons where you can click to make him change his hairstyle, try checking it out, they're kinda cool.

One that I liked most is the "Meet the Granny" part where she made him look like this good boy with the conventional old school center parting hairstyle, after that he quickly waxes his hair and turns himself into a cool guy.

Being LogicYuan myself, isn't it illogical if I do not do something to match this "soh chai"?

LogicYuan with his crappy look... Having low self esteem, unwilling to meet people, always hiding in his corner at home....

He decides to do something about his life and starts off slow with a random hairstyle...

Okay, that ain't good enough...

Logic found out that he had failed to be trendy and got a little sad, he turns himself into this dumbass...

Grand Opening of Super Sony Centre at One Utama

Last Friday, I was invited to the Grand Opening of Malaysia's 1st BLU RAY WORLD & Best Denki Sony Centre. Thanks to Katherine from MediaMax.

It started off with the speeches by the Japanese officials, representatives from MediaMax, One Utama etc. Ok I'll leave the coverage of the boring speeches to the newspapers, for my blog, let's move on the next agenda.

Nowadays, a LCD TV is on every household's home entertainment wanted list. Having a LCD TV together with a PS3 would be PERFECT!

Sony Blu-Ray World at Super Sony Centre, One Utama.

I personally love high resolution videos. When the Blu-Ray format was first launched, I remember surfing the whole net to get samples of the quality. I even downloaded some Blu-Ray rip torrent of some movies. They were all awesome. The clarity of the video allows you to even judge the texture of surfaces without stressing your eyes. MediaMax have now released 66 Blu-Ray movie titles from Sony Pictures Home entertainment. They are planning to release 3 new titles every month.

According to Jamie Tiong from MediaMax.com, the Blu-Ray movie sales increased from the initial 500pcs/month to 1000pcs/month. Their target is to have 10,000pcs sold in 2008. I personally think that the sales is still low because of the pricing. A piece of Blur-Ray movie disc is priced at RM149.90. Due to its impeccable quality, it is inevitable to have such a pricing, but it is still few times cheaper than the once almighty Laser Disc was launched 3 decades ago.

That is not all. The Sony BDP-S300 Blu-ray player cost around 4k which is only affordable to the upper class income group. I'd rather buy a Playstation 3 that can play Blu-Ray movies as well as Blu-Ray games which are awesome!

The cute lego decorations caught my attention while I was looking at the HD video cameras.

A bastard without an Ass

Sorry to Nigel for not going to the blogger movie outing with him. I had commitments for the Student Council in my college. I went to survey the site of the sports carnival that is going to happen next month.After that we went to Mid Valley to check out the stuffs that we need to buy for the non-sports events.

Note: Foreigners in APIIT tend to recognise Mid Valley as Megamall and they're not wrong. It's suppose to be Mid Valley Megamall but then there are so many megamalls over here, so try to say Mid Valley and the taxi driver will understand it.

Spent 40 minutes just to find a parking lot in Keat Hoe's car. There were these barbaric beings that snatches our spots. I seriously advise people out there not to drive a car to Mid Valley on wekeends around lunch time. Being stressed out in the car for 40 minutes isn't healthy!

I bought this bread in the supermarket there and it's name is the best term to describe those beings.

March '08 Orientation

2 and a half weeks ago, it was APIIT/UCTI's March Intake 2008 Orientation week.

I was involved a little in programme ideas and helped here and there.

The coolest part of this time's orientation is the Mini sketch. Students were asked to dress a model with newspapers and the thread given. Then perform a short sketch with the model. I suggested the theme to be "Futuristic" as they are fresh technology students with good imagination in a high tech way!

What impresses me the most is having the students to give their best shot for the activity. The attitude was great and the energy level was high.

Most of the costumes and sketches were great. This costume really caught my eye having the Malaysian Government Cabinet attached to his body. Take note of the Malaysia's current Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak on his shoulder. Haha :D

Here comes our sexy bunny. I admire his courage. He reminds me of myself when I used to cross dress for sketches. This concept works most of the time, its always funny and attracts a whole lot of attention. This dude actually asked whether I will post his photos in public but I told him no names will be shown.

Bollywood's version of King Leonidas? Haha! He should have shouted:"This is Bollywood!"

Thumbs up to this group! In my opinion, this was the creative outfit of the day!

This team with the Zorro concept was quite good with their sketch. They paid more effort towards the sketch than the outfit and it paid off. He can actually time travel to different time dimensions to save the day. Plus, he's contacted through his high tech cell phone that can call even from few thousand years ahead. Sounds absurd? hey peeps, its a skecth!

Photoshoot at Kanching Waterfalls

2 weeks ago, I went for my first blogger photoshoot outing. The destination was Hutan Lipur Kanching a.k.a. Kanching Forest Reserve. This recreation park is located off the trunk road between Selayang and Rawang. I was told that there's 7 waterfalls in that park, that's why I'd rather call the place Kanching Waterfalls than Kanching Park.

Now who says we can only get good waterfalls overseas? Well, some people get really proud when they talk about traveling around the world to many different countries but they never realise the true beauty that is just few miles away from their doorstep.

It was kind of an easy hike to all 7 waterfalls, mainly because I used to hike a lot during my high school days. Some of my friends had quite a hard time and had to stop for some rest in between.

Kanching Waterfalls is still in good condition without any major destruction of flora and fauna. But near the camping and picnic section, there are a lot of unwanted littering by uncivilised homosapiens.

This is a sore in the eye and also a painful sight for our camera lenses. I hope that the Selangor City Council will pay some effort to to remove this unsightly view, but it is the civic consciousness of the visitors that needs some rectification.

At first, we thought this must be a deserted park but after some time, more and more people came in. People were there to hike, swim, picnic etc. There were a group of people having a seafood barbeque, the aroma of the crustaceans being cooked made our stomach drum roll.

Guess? Leaves? WTF?

It was this little lizard that caught all of our attention.

At one point, all the DSLRs were pointing towards it. I bet it felt like it was the attending the premiere of "The Lizard" starring the Lizard from Kanching. It's acting standards might surpass Malaysia's very own superhero - Cicakman. Cicakman is actually nothing like the Handsome saves the Beauty type of superhero, it is a witty comedy with some really irritating characters in it.

I'm a person that really have a soft spot for waterfalls. Especially the cool and refreshing feeling that it gives when the water slides between and over the rocks. At many points, I wanted to just jump into the water but I didn't prepare any spare clothing.

It was my first time going to a photoshoot with bloggers. They taught me a lot of stuff about photography. I was a little disappointed when I found out quite a number of my pictures turn out quite badly but everyone has their first time. I hope to capture and immortalise more and more beautiful scenery for my viewers in the near future.

Weekend Movie and Dining - Three Kingdoms and Fusion Haven

Try the Lamb Eggplant Lasagna (RM18.90++). It is absolutely delicious! The combination of fresh vegetables, grilled lamb and eggplant lasagna is a fusion dish that turns out to be a mouthwatering dish. It is absolutely nothing like those weird fusion dishes you get in some crappy restaurant.

For light eaters, you can opt for the Lemon Grass Carbonara (RM11.90++). The portion is just right for your girlfriend's stomach. It is a creamy dish with a hint of lemon grass aroma.

Three Kingdoms:Resurrection of the Dragon

This weekend, watch a new movie starring Andy Lau, Sammo Hung and Maggie Q. I'm really looking forward to it but then with the assignment load that I have at the moment, I would have to postponed it to next week. Will it be a great movie? I seriously cannot comment at this moment but then I can assure you that it won't be that bad. ANDY LAU!!! SAMMO HUNG!!! Even if you get bored with the storyline of ancient chinese literature, you get an eye candy - Maggie Q.

During the RED week, Hitz.fm cruisers dropped by APIIT/UCTI!

So literally, its time for games and freebies!

(The first two guys that removed their shirt and put on the Hitz.fm t-shirt gets to take it home!)

They asked some simple questions and the ones who could answer them received some prizes.

I had my share. I won a magazine, a sunblock and a t-shirt.

One interesting game that they had was called Proposal, Marriage and Divorce.

RED - Let's Go CLUBing

Last week was APIIT/UCTI's RED week! RED meaning Recruitment Drive and the slogan was Let's Go CLUBing! It was quite a week for the societies and clubs for them to attract new members.

The booths managed to get a lot of attention of our fellow APIITians to register.

SARC in action! Haha SARC actually had too many applicants and they had an interview session to filter some of them out.

Here comes the Taekwondo Booth! Kicking *haeyah!*

The most popular booth was the one for the upcoming sports club as many students are looking forward to try different sports.

Here's APIIT Dance Club!

They are actually setting up a Music Club in APIIT. I hope they come out with some nice performances during the Multi-Cultural Night.

Java Special Interest Group.

In my opinion, the event went on smoothly but was a bit lack of creativity I shall say. They were all plain and I actually expected some of the clubs to do something more outrageous to grab more members. This is the first time, so let's see further improvement in the future.

Weekend Movie and Dining - Awake and Mexican!

Note: I'm going to post about Weekend Movie and Dining every Friday!

I watched "Awake" without knowing the synopsis. I was giving it a wild try and it paid off. Jessica Alba is still as hot as ever but her acting skills are still too weak to be discussed. In Malaysia, they cut the love making scene and cursing scenes. It actually got me a little frustrated.

At one point, it almost gave me an impression its just a chick flick but then as it moves on, the story turns left and right, giving me the suspense that a guy would like. The storyline is actually really really good. If they picked a better cast rather than what I call "Face cast", this movie can easily get an Oscar Award.

Couples out there, this is a good Date movie! It gives happy images to a girl and it gives the suspense to the guys!

I went to this Mexican Restaurant called Carlos Mexican Canteena at Pavilion 2. The place is quite good for a chill out. I loved the Margarita! You shouldn't trust me on this because I love just about any Margarita!

Tried the potato skin, there were more minced meat in it but I still like the TGI Friday's Potato Skin more.

They sell Fresh Oysters for RM2 per piece there!

My friend tried the Carlos Mexican Burger. The beef patty looks thick and juicy to me!

KennySia was hosting a posing thingy along with the Malaysian Dreamgirl Contestants.

After that, the girls came upstairs and I chatted with Jaishana a bit. I think she's the smartest among the contestants, that's why I chose to talk to her instead of the bimbos. She used to lecture in LimKokWing but she left her job to pursue her dreams in the modeling industry.

Then this Nadia got jealous thinking that Jay was trying to pull some votes from the fans. She stepped up and came into our conversation. Haha!

My reaction was like: "Oh! You're the garang one!".
Nadia: No, I'm not garang at all.
Me: You actually looked quite garang at times, even Elaine made that statement.
Jay: Yeah, because she wore the coloured contact lenses.
Me: Ok! I gotta take a picture with you and you must pose GARANG for me! Haha!

I usually check out the Oscar's winners list every year to look for good movies and guess what?
The 80th Annual Academy Award's Best Visual Effects went to THE GOLDEN COMPASS. Beating Transformers and Pirates of the Caribbean 3!!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?

Seriously I dig Iorek Byrnison(the bear) for his masculinity! But better visual effects than TRANSFORMERS? What happened to Optimus Prime?

I admit that in the movie Transformers, during the action part, the robots were all over the screen at high speed, hence we can't really focus too detail on the rendering but in The Golden Compass, I don't think it deserves to be the BEST.

I tried to do some research on the way they judge in the Oscars and found this article saying that they usually go for the politically correct ones but since The Golden Compass raised a lot of issues among the Christian community, why did they get the awards?

Is it a way of telling the world that they're in DECEIVING since the effects is good? Or is it to show the world they don't only let the politically correct win?

First of all I think the movie is super duper FARNY!!!!! And the combination of the on screen couple as seen in the picture below is damn cool!!!

Tak tahu mengapa tetapi tiba-tiba saya mempunyai keinginan untuk blog dengan Bahasa Melayu. Post ini mengenai beberapa kawan lama yang saya jumpai semasa Tahun Baru Cina yang baru lepas. Setelah saya berpindah ke Wilayah Persekutuan untuk melanjutkan pelajaran di menara gading, saya jarang berpeluang untuk bertemu dengan rakan sekolah saya di Pulau Pinang.

Ah Long Pte Ltd Press Conference

The other bloggers that came along was Jamie and Shaun. Most of the bloggers couldn't make it as it was 2pm in the afternoon on a weekday. We can't do a thing about that as the schedule have to fit the stars and the organisers,right?

This dude kick-started the event and did an introduction before the casts entered.

He invited the stars one by one and the first to enter was one of my favourite directors - Jack Neo.

It was really cool having to see him in person. He is quite humble and funny in character. I really admire his passion towards making movies and breakthroughs in the movie industry for his country. He was expressing his satisfaction with the box office results of the movie in Singapore but we Malaysians should also give him a big box office hit since its a Malaysian+Singaporean movie,right?

Soon, all the casts entered the hall and took their seats.

Now is the chance for the media to throw questions.
(p.s. Blogs are one of the medias too, BLOGGER POWER!)

One of the early questions was about whether there is going to be a sequel to this movie since its great reception in the City of Lion. Jack Neo grinned and replied that if it also do well in Boleh-land then they will plan to make a sequel, moreover they might contact the Japanese Triads to join in.

The role of Fann Wong in Ah Long Pte Ltd will most likely be compared to the Korean movie - My Wife is a Gangster.But Jack made a remark that Fann's performance will not be below the Korean's.

I asked the first question towards Fann.(memang proud xD) In Mandarin, I asked her about her experience working alongside so many Malaysian artists comparing to acting with Singaporean artists and international stars since she played Chon Lin in Shanghai Knights with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson. She was like: well.... it was pretty much the same, very fun working with them, sometimes they might teach her a local joke....

Next is Singapore's very own Ah Beng representative aka Lala in Malaysian terms. He played a "Chao Ah Kua"(Bitchy Sissy Male) in this movie which was really good. He said that it is easy to act as an Ah Kua but Chao Ah Kua is very hard!!! He said having to speak Malaysian-ised Mandarin in the movie, it took him 3 months to turn himself back into Singaporean mode, having complaints of broken mandarin by his colleagues.

Everybody that watched the movie are curious about the bedroom scene between Mark Lee and Fann Wong. Apparently Mark Lee wants to thank the director for the kissing scene because they NG 3 times, Mark says Fann's lips is really soft! Haha lucky chap! Despite that, both of them felt a bit pressured during the shooting of the bedroom scene as it was Mark's first experience working with such a pretty lady and he sees her as a vase and is too afraid that he might break it. Fann replied with a smile saying that she should be the one that is scared as Mark is so skinny that she might break his arms. Haha xD

One thing to look for in the movie is Fann's scar. Everytime they shoot, the make-up artist has to put it on her face and that creates an irritation to her skin and caused some blisters. It hurts so bad that they had to stick it a bit higher or lower to avoid the same spot. Now that's a trivia!

Richard Low did quite a good job in acting as the former leader of the triad. He said he did not try to impersonate any person but he had done some research and tried his best to act as a gangster head. He is more known as the Father of Terry in I Not Stupid that always uses the hokkien term "Limpek" to call himself which was very funny and he came out with a new term that he repeats throughout the show, wanna know? go watch it!

(There is a scene where the Ah Longs from different gangs were up to a "football" match that uses durians as the ball, a very funny part that caused Daniel Tan a rather serious injury)

Sadly, I didn't have the chance to take a picture with Jack Neo or Fann Wong after the conference as they head to another room for their private session, but I got to speak with this lovely girl Koe Yeet that played the role of the revenge teen in the movie which I thought was quite spectacular. Apparently she plays tennis and she plays for Selangor! That's cool!I used to play tennis a lot! I actually asked my tennis friends back in Penang and they were like:"OH!!! That one with a weird hair during MSSM!" She sacrificed her waist long hair for the movie and she said that she cried pretty badly after cutting it!

I watched the movie in the Special Screening and enjoyed it a lot. You better take yourself away from the screen and watch it in the cinemas. It will be on the screens on the
12th of March 2008.

Ah Long Pte Ltd Special Screening

Received the SMS from Josh about the details of the screening the night before and the next day *poof* I'm there!

I will not review the movie in this post to prevent spoilers and also because I'm going to attend the Press Conference today.

One of my favourite cast in the movie which I thought she was outstanding is this girl(pic above) - Koe Yeet as the Revenge Teen.

After the movie, I stayed back for a chatting and photography session which I expected all the bloggers to stay too considering Josh requested all the bloggers to gather outside the cinema after the movie but it was rather disappointing that only so few people were that for the group pic.

APIIT CNY Celebrations 2008 #2

Here comes the rage between lions. The atmosphere was great as everyone was consumed by the brave and bold lions.

One of my favourite pictures of day. I like the depth and the message it gives.

Judging from his skill and age, he's probably an apprentice in the lion dance business, but he sure is serious and sweated the hell out of himself.

APIIT CNY Celebrations 2008 #1

It started off with 2 lovely ladies wearing cheongsam* being the host for the celebrations.

Fact: The cheongsam is a body-hugging one-piece Chinese dress for women.

The Lion Dance crew arrived shortly after the official opening of the celebration.

A solo violin performance by APIIT's international student from China kick started the event.

Followed by this girl's solo vocal performance of a chinese pop song named 非你莫属.

PhotoHunt 98 Wooden

This picture was taken in Penang's War Museum several weeks ago. The museum is not like a big gallery of historical items but its the actual site itself meaning you're going to a place that real history occured.

There are two wooden rice pounders in the picture that was used by British prisoners of war to prepare breakfast during the World War II in the Japanese invasion in Malaysia.

In the picture is a kitchen in a British made barrack in Batu Maung,Penang. It is a defense base against marine military threat but unfortunately the Japanese managed to take over it by land attacks.

Vantage Point Special Sreening

Yesterday I went to One Utama to watch a special screening of Vantage Point. Before that, Derek and I went to Ajisen Ramen for dinner, I wouldn't want to recall how atrocious the rice meal was.(the taste is a total disaster for the fish donburi and they use cheap rice instead of japanese rice).

Collected the tickets from the advertlets booth and then met pOp,Rames,Jen etc and handed in our handphones and cameras. I guess that's the price to pay for watching a movie 2 days before the world and 3 days before America. They had these metal detectors to scan your whole body and the equipments looked pretty cool. A guard even used a infra-red camera during the movie to check the whole cinema for pirates.*ahem,u know what I mean*

The movie was exhilarating. It's a total must watch!!! I shall give a 9 out of 10.

After the movie, we had to queue up to collect our belongings and guess what? The security company is called REZEKI...what a joke?

Because of the lack of coordination, some of the bloggers fled right after the movie, causing a tremendous lack of blogging personnels around. The situation got worse when it became a bloggers gang on the left in the picture and the boss+celebrity gang on the right.

Kek Lok Si #2 - The View,the Guard and the Beggars

After passing through the souvenir stalls and the turtle pond, we finally arrived at the first scene of the temple.

The view is spectacular as you can see.

Tried to take some pics of the beggars. They all will try to face another direction to avoid me having a clear picture of their face.

Malaysians are not ready for impromptu street photography.

Kek Lok Si #1 - The Hike Towards the Temple

One week before Chinese New Year, my housemate from Indonesia Steven decided to pay me a visit in Penang and I played the role of a Tour Guide to take him around. A tour to Kek Lok Si was the first destination.

On the way to Kek Lok Si Temple, I dropped by at my high school and took a picture.
Chung Ling High School gave me countless memories.

Parked below for a flat rate of RM3.00 which is quite expensive.You can opt to park up the hill which cost less but climbing from the bottom is more fun.

One of the famous attraction in Kek Lok Si temple is the hundreds of tortoises. Tourists can purchase a bunch of water spinach(a.k.a. Kangkung) for RM1.00 from the hawkers around the pond to feed them.

I didn't teleport to Penang lah...I guess I'm having "Heroes" overdose.

Took a flight back to Penang...

Some say I'm trying to show off or whatever but the truth is I log on to AirAsia almost everyday to look for offer and this trip costed me RM52.00 nett which is a little less than double if compared to the dangerous buses like the incident that took away the lives of 3 bright youths. I've signed the online petition to solve the bus crashes problem. Think of your loved ones.

Fine Dining at Ferringhi Grill - Part 2

Sorry for these high noise pics once again.Was using k800i and the lighting was very weak.

It's the Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort Ferringhi Grill part 2.

I personally adore bread like these. I prefer this over those soft bread.

I had the Lamb Cutlet which turned out to be very nice.

These are some of the deco in the hotel.

It was my 2nd experience dining in Ferringhi Grill. The previous time was in 2004 before they had the major renovation. It was Dad's birthday. The signature dish here is the Roast beef. They use American Beef last time which tasted way better than the present Australian Beef.

3 weeks ago, my dad brought mom,my little brother and I to dine at Ferringhi Grill. Ferringhi Grill is a fine dining restaurant in Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort in Batu Ferringhi,Penang.

It was a rather good experience dining there. I apologise for the high noise pics as I was using my K800i and the lighting was low. Stay tune for the rest of the dinner...
